Goals of the course
The course based on the
curriculum of 1st4Sport, builds on the principles established at 1st4Sport
Level 1 incorporating the generic ‘craft’ skills of coaching in a netball
context. These are extended further, particularly with regard to practical
coaching which is conducted on and off the course.
This Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Netball
is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the processes and
principles of coaching netball to adults and children. The certificate offers
an opportunity for netball coaches to be supported in developing their
knowledge of how to effectively plan, conduct and evaluate a series of netball
coaching sessions in a safe, ethical and effective manner. Those who complete
this certificate will be able to work as a netball coach, either alone or as
part of a larger coaching team.

Entry Criteria
Applicants
are expected to have ONE of the following levels of educational attainment for entry into this programme:
- A certificate level 1 in coaching netball or an equivalent
- Should have passed grade 7 at a government recognized school
- 8 years old and work experience of one year in a job that requires reading, writing and communication in the language of instruction.
