Diploma in Sports Management

Goals of the Course

  • To build higher level of knowledge and abilities based on the Advanced Certificate programme and at the same time provide a solid foundation to those candidates leaving schools with their A levels aspiring a career in sports management and related areas. 
  •  To develop organisational capabilities of sports-persons to a level that will enable them to perform effectively as assistants to managers.
  • To   provide them with a qualification which will enable them to progress to management positions at a later stage in their careers.
 Objectives of the course.
  •   Broad-based education in sports management
  •  A robust working knowledge of the structure and organisation of sport and its place within society, so as to enable them to make informed middle-level management decision
  •  Aspects of management needed to provide the necessary confidence to be able to participate effectively in working with and through people to market and develop sport within an organisation or a community.
  •  Prepare them for careers in the field of sports and leisure management with an awareness of   developments in sports and sport technology

 Entry Criteria
  •  An MNQF level 4 qualification approved by MQA
  •   2 passes in a higher secondary education examination approved by MQA.
  •   20 years old and at least one pass in a lower secondary school examination and one year of work experience
